As a result of extremely generous financial support, we are extending this season to seven recitals but keeping our membership subscription at the same level as last year. There can be no better value for money package anywhere for those seeking classical music at the highest level of performance, or a more appropriate time to spread the word amongst friends and colleagues and encourage them to join us as members or occasional concert-goers.

We open the season with the additional recital and are honoured to welcome Martin Roscoe, playing for the first time for Darlington Piano Society. Subsequent performers include two recent competition winners: Anna Tsybuleva (Leeds International Piano Competition, 2015) and Martin James Bartlett (BBC Young Musician of the Year, 2014). Together with Charles Owen (co-founder of the London Piano Festival), Dinara Klinton (third prize, Cleveland International Piano Competition, USA, 2016) and returning artists John Paul Ekins and Clare Hammond we have a season of outstanding quality.

(Due to ill health, Grace Yeo’s recital for us on 10th December has been postponed. We are pleased to be able to welcome back John Paul Ekins with a programme framed by two very popular works.)

The generous and much appreciated sponsorship received by the Society enables us to achieve such quality and we are, once again, deeply indebted to our loyal sponsors. However, societies cannot develop and prosper without increased membership, so please continue to spread the word amongst friends and colleagues and encourage them to join us.
